If you are creating a new sitemap the Configuration
wizard will automatically load.
To change the configuration of an existing map open
the map and click the Configure button.
Step 1 : Map name
- Edit your map name as required.
- Enter a map name and click Next.
Step 2 : Files to include
- Locate the folder on your computer where your website is stored.
- Specify the file types you would like to include in your sitemap using
a comma separated list.
- Enter the full address of your website e.g. http://www.dbnetsolutions.co.uk
- Note : You can exclude individual files and folders when you edit your
map later.
- Click next.
Step 3 : Modifed dates
- If you would like to tell Google when your website pages were updated tick
the yes option.
- You should then select which date you want to use for newly added files
and files that already exist in your site.
- Click Next.
Step 4 : Frequency
- If you would like to suggest to Google how often your files change choose
a default value to use for files.
- Note : You can edit this for individual files and folders when you edit
your map later
- Click next.
Step 5 : Priorities
- You can tell Google how important various files are within your site relative
to others.
Choose a default value to use for files 1 being the highest and 0 being the
lowest priority.

your map later
- Click Next.
Step 6 : Regular expressions
- You can use regular expressions to exlude files and folders through pattern matching.
- Read more about regular expressions.
Step 7 : Map file names
- G-Mapper will export a copy of your maps into the root of your website when
you index your files. You can specify the filenames it uses here.
- You can also specify an XSL stylesheet to reference from your sitemap. Enter
the file name relative to the sitemaps.
- Click Next.
Step 8 : FTP details
- If you would like to be able to upload your sitemaps using G-mapper enter
your FTP server address
- If your FTP server does not point directly to the root of your website you
should enter the folder for the root of your website from the FTP root.
- Enter the FTP username that allows you to upload.
- Enter the password for the above username
- Click Finish to save your settings.
What's next
After you have finished your sitemap configuration you will be prompted to
index your site. It is usually recommended that you do this.
